To truly tell the story forward, you have to take a step back.

It was so innocent. It was January, the new year had been in place for only a couple of days. I had moved to this town from my only real home 6 months earlier. And truth be told, I was more homesick and miserable than I ever thought possible.

I had no friends. I had no life. I only had a job, which was okay...but not all that I wanted it to be. If I had the means or the money, I would have moved back long before now...but my Aunt kept telling me to stick it out. That God had something wonderful planned for me and not to give up on it just yet.

So I made a friend, Tonya. She took some pity upon me (I think) and introduced me to some of her friends and at least I got to get out of the house on occassion. We weren't fabulous friends, but it was nice and I needed it more than she did.

We were both the same age and both getting ready to turn 30. She had a wonderful boyfriend and I was, well, alone. I'd been dating an older man for a couple of months, who I'd met online, somehow. I don't quite remember how we came across each other, but one thing lead to another and I figured "a bird in the hand" was better than an empty hand.

Somewhere along the way, I found out that he had a wife and various other lies and I was just beside myself. So I'd made a decision. A bad decision. I decided that I would go after the Boss's (hunky) younger son. We'd been flirting around each other for months, so what the hell. Right? it's just a job and how often do you get to say that you banged a hottie? Not very often.

Tonya and I were going to meet for lunch after the holidays and catch up. My New Years Resolution for that year? Only one. "Get A Life". Plain and simple.

We met for lunch at a local restaurant. I had made up my mind to give Young Stud my number and make plans for a wreckless and foolish decision, but a fun time when it happened. He happened. God decided this was the time to unveil His plan and keep me from doing something I'd regret.

One look at his nametag and I knew it wasn't real. To this day, I still don't know what came over me. I don't tease or pick on people that I don't somehow know, yet this good looking guy...well, I couldn't stop myself.

"Digby? What kind of a name is 'Digby'?! Come on, what's you real name?!"

That was the opening volley. Those are the words that started it all. Those 14 words led me to the most amazing person that my life has been blessed to know. Those words and that day, forever changed my life. I will continue to thank God every single day for that. And for him.
